The Zoo!
On Saturday it was incredibly nice outside so Allie and I decided to go to the zoo while Josh was in Independence,KS all day for work. I have been wanting to take her to the zoo so bad, but it's been too cold outside. Last fall our zoo trips consisted of Allie constantly saying "dog" "dog" "dog" because all animals were considered dogs in her little world. Now she says so many animal sounds and can actually tell some of the animals apart. It is so amazing to see how much she has learned in such a short time. She went up to the animals in the petting zoo and said "hi," then told them what sound they make, then told them "bye bye." We were so excited to find out that the penguins are going to have babies this spring! There are 3 eggs in 2 different nests and they are hoping for more eggs because the mating season is not over yet. There is a lot of tension between the male penguins as they guard their nests. They make all kinds of calling sounds. I am so excited to see the baby penguins this summer! Penguins are my favorite for those of you who didn't know. Hopefully Allie will be excited too! We had so much fun at the zoo.
