Happy Easter!

Hope everyone had a great Easter this year. Ours was wonderful! We really enjoyed spending time with all of the people we love.

As a parent, God has allowed me to view the message of Easter it a totally different way this year. I have always been in awe of the sacrifice that Jesus made for me on the cross, but as I was thinking about the events of Jesus' crucifixion this Easter I thought about it from God the Father's point of view. How could he have allowed Jesus, his only son, to be tortured and beaten as he was? God is all powerful. He could have intervened. As Jesus was hanging on the cross and He cried out "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" what kept God the Father from saying "Ok, stop...stop. I can't go through with this! I can't do this to my son!" If that had been Allie I would have saved her from the very beginning. Just as I was thinking this I realized the answer. He did it because of me. God loved me...and you so incredibly much that he sacrificed his only son because it was the only way to save us from sin. Wow! God's love is so great!
